Over the past week, the government’s machinery of repression and execution continued its killing with relentless speed, hanging at least 11 people. Statistics show that since August 23, more than 45 prisoners have been executed. In recent days, Ali Zarei, one of those who suffered eye injuries during the 2022 protests, has also been sentenced to death in Ghezel Hesar Prison.

Meanwhile, reports indicate the suspicious death of a political prisoner named Erfan Mirzaei in Dastgerd Prison in Isfahan, who was killed by government agents. In another development, after the Supreme Court agreed to a retrial in the case of Alireza Sepahi, a prisoner sentenced to death in Isfahan, his case was referred to a court of equal jurisdiction. However, this court rejected the retrial without holding a hearing and sent the case to the enforcement branch for the execution of the death sentence.

According to additional information, Taraneh Rahimi, Navid Elyasi, Abolfazl Dadgostar, Mehdi Mansouri, Ahmadreza Saeedi, Mehrdad Boeiri, Mohammadmehdi Asadi, Armin Gholami, Parsa Jafari, and Mehdi Jafari (Khosravi) have each been sentenced to death and 11 years in prison.

Romina Rahimi and Milad Boeiri have each been sentenced to 36 years in prison, Hamed Mehralian to 26 years in prison, and Setayesh Saeedi, Sajjad Abedi, and Ali Boeiri have each been sentenced to 16 years in prison. Accordingly, the total prison sentences issued for the 16 defendants in this case amount to 256 years. These sentences were issued at the initial trial stage. We referred to this collective case last week, and the lives of these prisoners are at risk.

The intensification of these individual and collective acts of repression and executions reflects the government’s fear of nationwide protests and the uprisings to come. The worsening economic crisis, three-digit inflation, the surge in the dollar exchange rate to 230,000 tomans, the start of the official increase in gasoline prices on Tuesday, and the daily shrinking of the tables of workers and working people are, more than ever, painting a picture of the prospect of a social explosion.

In these critical circumstances, the need to continue the “No to Execution Tuesdays” Campaign, despite all the dangers and restrictions inside prisons, has become all the more urgent. We, the members of this campaign, once again call on all international institutions, awakened consciences, human rights defenders, and advocates for the abolition of the death penalty around the world to join us and stand in solidarity.

The “No to Execution Tuesdays” Campaign expands to 62 different prisons
At a time when uncontrolled inflation and the unprecedented decline in the value of the national currency have pushed the livelihoods and purchasing power of most sections of society below the poverty line, the livelihood crisis has been growing in scale day by day. These days, we are witnessing a deep economic and social crisis and a widening class divide between a minority whose hands are stained with the blood of the majority; the Velayat-e Faqih government, too, has taken no action for the welfare of the people or to solve their problems other than trying to preserve its own survival and that of the dependent class. On the other hand, the government has severely repressed society and prisoners to prevent protests by people who have been pushed to the limit. Therefore, we witness the daily implementation of inhuman executions or the issuing of new death sentences.

The ruling oppressive government executed at least 32 people, including 2 women, in the last week of August alone. In addition, many of those arrested during the January 2026 uprising have been sentenced to death or are at risk of receiving this sentence. These include the issuance of death sentences for 10 defendants in the “Meydan Shohada” case in Isfahan, political prisoner Leila Abolhasani in Dowlatabad Prison in Isfahan, as well as the confirmation of the death sentence of Ali-Asghar Peyghambari in Ghezel Hesar Prison. All of these individuals have been subjected to injustice without the right to a defense or a fair trial, and their lives are at risk.

Under such circumstances, resistance and opposition to the inhuman death penalty are extremely important and necessary. Therefore, this campaign calls on all political, human rights, labor, and civil activists, as well as all awakened consciences across Iran, to confront and stand against the killing machine that, every day and without stopping, takes the lives of people, citizens, and political prisoners on baseless charges.

This week, a group of prisoners in Iran Shahr Prison in Sistan and Baluchestan Province also joined the “No to Execution Tuesdays” Campaign; thus, the campaign has expanded to 62 different prisons.

These days, the economic situation of the people is getting worse day by day because of the government’s inefficiency, anti-people policies, and crisis-creating nature. On the other hand, instead of resolving the crisis, the government does nothing but repress society. To prevent protests, they do not stop executions especially the execution of protesting young people and political prisoners and every day we witness the execution of one of these dear ones.

Last week, two political prisoners from the January protests, Ghaem Hosseini in Isfahan Prison and Majid Adineh in Karaj Central Prison, were hanged. At the same time, death sentences have been issued or upheld for several other political prisoners, including the upholding of the death sentence of Arghavan Falahi in the women’s ward of Evin Prison, Rasoul Rezaei in Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad, and Mohammadreza Majidi-Asl, who has been transferred from Tehran Bozorg Prison to Ghezel Hesar Prison. This sudden transfer to Ghezel Hesar, which is the center of executions in Tehran Province and one of the government’s killing grounds, has greatly increased his family’s concerns. The judicial process for these dear ones who are at risk of imminent execution has, like that of many other prisoners, been extremely unfair and non-transparent.

Also, since 21 March 2026, 378 people have been executed, and since the Pezeshkian government came to power, this figure has surpassed 4,000. During the past week, the ruling authoritarian government has made changes to the judiciary under the “Velayat-e Faqih.” These changes were made at the suggestion and through the direct intervention of security institutions and pose a serious danger to prisoners and those sentenced to death, because there is no independent institution to review and handle their cases, and these individuals are even deprived of the right to choose their own lawyer.

But in contrast, the “No to Execution Tuesdays” Campaign and the resistant prisoners continue to stand firm and persevere. This week, a group of prisoners in Noor Prison in Mazandaran Province also joined the “No to Execution Tuesdays” Campaign. These prisoners have placed their only hope in their collective power, the people, and awakened consciences who continue, without stopping, to stand and fight against the killing machine.

We sincerely thank the retirees and everyone who, in gatherings and throughout the streets and neighborhoods, make the voice of “No to Execution” heard by everyone. The teachers’ call for “No to Execution” must also be supported by workers and other social forces. We appreciate the teachers who have been pioneers and at the forefront in representing and continuing this path. In every classroom, children should be taught that the fundamental principle is always the right to life and living, not death and execution.

May the memory of all political prisoners who lost

their lives in the bloody summer of 1988 be honored and eternal.

On the anniversary of the massacre of political prisoners in the summer of 1988 which was recognized by Mr. Javid Rahman, the former UN Special Rapporteur on human rights, as a “crime against humanity” we honor the memory of all those who lost their lives on the path to freedom and equality, and hope that soon the perpetrators and those who ordered this crime against humanity will be brought before a court of justice.

The “No to Execution Tuesdays” Campaign seeks justice for each and every one of these dear ones and for all those who have been executed by the dictatorship ruling Iran. During the past week, the authoritarian government also brutally hanged Shahram Sadeghi, a political prisoner arrested during the January 2026 protests, in Karaj. With the executions of Shahram Sadeghi and Mohammad (Cherag) Afroukhteh, who was recently executed in Zahedan, the number of political prisoners executed since 21 March 2026 has reached at least 39. This figure is a serious warning for many other political and non-political prisoners sentenced to death.

Despite widespread protests, the Velayat-e Faqih government has never stopped executions, because it sees its survival as dependent on repression and execution. Over the past months, executions increased to such an extent that, after 134 weeks of the continuation of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” Campaign and its repeated reports to the public and various institutions—in addition to widespread protests by the people and anti execution activists, finally, 32 countries around the world, in a very important statement, called for the immediate cessation of executions in Iran.

We, the members of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” Campaign, call on all these countries to make all their diplomatic and commercial relations with the Iranian government conditional on a complete halt to executions, in order to effectively stop the execution machine. We also once again call on all awakened consciences to be the voice of this campaign and of all those sentenced to death in Iran, and to take action continuously in every possible way.

It should be noted that a group of prisoners in Gachsaran Prison announced their official joining of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” Campaign by publishing a statement. Accordingly, in the 134th week of their campaign, the members of the campaign will go on hunger strike on Tuesday, 18 August 2026, in 60 prisons across the country. No to Execution

The executionist government has executed at least 342 prisoners since 21 March 2026,, including 10 women, 2 people who were children at the time of their sentencing, and 37 political prisoners. Last week, two of those arrested during the January 2026 uprising in Shiraz, named Mojtaba Dehbandi and Kianoush Hamzehei, were sentenced to death. The judicial process for these two prisoners, like that of many other prisoners, has been unfair and non-transparent.

The ruling authoritarian government wants to create an atmosphere of fear and terror in society through these executions in order to silence every voice of protest. During this period, we have seen that some prisoners who protested against executions were transferred to solitary confinement or had new cases brought against them. On the other hand, by opening collective cases such as Meydan Alikhani, Meydan Shohada Isfahan, Shandiz, or Esfarayen, and issuing death sentences or long-term imprisonment, they intend to intimidate society. But these tactics multiply society’s anger.

We, the members of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” Campaign, appreciate all social groups, including artists, who in one way or another support the “No to Execution” Campaign and the families of those executed. We continue to call on all the honorable people of Iran from different social groups to protest, like the retirees, at gatherings against the uncontrolled executions and to openly declare their unwavering support for the No to Execution movement and the “No to Execution Tuesdays” Campaign.

No to Execution

Call for collective solidarity against execution

As we have witnessed in recent weeks, the crisis-creating and crisis-living government ruling over the lives and livelihoods of the people has expanded executions. So far since 23 July, it has executed 35 people, one of whom was a juvenile offender and another was a woman. 28 of these people have been executed between 28 July and 4 August, three of those executed being protesters of the January 2026 uprising.

The Velayat-e Faqih government, which has based the continuation of its rule on the repression and exploitation of the people, especially the deprived classes and working people, has used the pretext of war to heavily attack the lives and livelihoods of the people; with a known minority, it has occupied the streets at night and dragged them into vulgarity, deployed armored units and checkpoints on the main roads, and is making no effort to stop the war. Because it is not afraid of war, and the threat of the foreign enemy is considered a blessing for it, just as the eight-year war with Iraq was. Despite their many differences, the greatest fear of all the various ruling factions is the emergence of an internal uprising. They know well that through missile cities, they can buy as much time as possible against the United States and Israel in order to guarantee their survival.

No foreign country or power, despite the warmongering of the Iranian government, is a bearer of peace, democracy, equality, and human rights for Iran and the region. As opponents of execution, we naturally oppose war and foreign intervention as well, and we have stated this many times.

Prosperity, equality, freedom, happiness, and the rejection of every form of exploitation and dictatorship are possible only through the people and collective power. That is why Mojtaba Khamenei, the unseen autocratic leader, is carrying out his father’s will, invoking the God of the 80s and bringing execution cranes into the streets to take the lives of Amirhossein Safari and Abolfazl Sepahi in public, and executing 19 year old Arvin Kheirkhahan, who is full of the joy of life, in Shahroud, continuing the killings and massacre of January 2026 in this way in order to prevent any form of protest for revolutionary and fundamental transformation. And his representatives speak of the fruits of execution in Friday prayers and on state television and praise the executioners. Now every awakened conscience wonders: if these young protesters were criminals and murderers and are hanged in public view, why were their trials not held publicly, and why are they secretly tortured and tried?!

But in contrast, inside the prisons we are witnessing admirable resistance. Resistant and fighting prisoners protest the repression inside and outside the prisons in various ways; they are sent to solitary confinement and exiled, but they only appear to fall silent when they go to the gallows and become eternal.

This resistance is not limited to political prisoners. In the past two weeks, 1,500 prisoners in Unit 2 of Ghezel Hesar, with a will of steel, went on hunger strike for more than two weeks and did not end their hunger strike until prison officials and the prosecutor’s office agreed to commit to stopping the implementation of the sentences. On the other hand, in 59 prisons, the “No to Execution Tuesdays” Campaign continues with solidarity, and we prisoners who are members of the campaign have become more determined to continue the campaign as executions intensify. Given the current situation and the fact that one of the protesters, including those arrested in January 2026, is being executed every day, raising the issue of execution before public opinion is essential; because execution means “deprivation of life” and is state violence, and in Iran every execution has a political purpose and is intended to create fear and terror, and now the threat of this inhumane act has spread throughout Iranian society.

We find it necessary to thank and appreciate all organizations, political parties, human rights, labor, and civil institutions, including retirees and domestic and international figures, for opposing execution in general and supporting the “No to Execution Tuesdays” Campaign. But with the utmost humility, given the above, we expect political parties, organizations, political currents, human rights, labor, and civil organizations that oppose execution to act without any “buts” or conditions in defense of the “right to life” and “No to Execution.”

Given that for 132 weeks prisoners have unitedly carried forward the “No to Execution Tuesdays” Campaign and have fulfilled their minimum duty as prisoners, and its members have been transferred to solitary confinement, beaten, and executed, it is expected that opponents of execution will take effective steps to stop executions and use every possible means to take practical action against executions.

The fact that the prosecutor of the executionist government has threatened opponents of execution with punishment even for merely expressing an opinion shows the advance of the No to Execution movement and its importance. Therefore, it is necessary for opposition to execution to become more widespread and to include all those sentenced to death, both political prisoners of any tendency and non political prisoners of any charge.

As we have stated many times, our power lies in our solidarity, and through resistance and organizing, we will break the barrier of dictatorship and execution.

No to Execution

Support for the hunger strike of the 1,500 prisoners in Unit 2 of Ghezel Hesar Prison
The “No to Execution Tuesdays” Campaign commemorates the anniversary of the execution of Behrouz Ehsani and Mehdi Hassani, two political prisoners and members of the No to Execution Campaign. These two political prisoners were transferred on 26 July 2025 for the implementation of their death sentences after prison guards attacked the political prisoners’ ward in Ghezel Hesar Prison and severely beat them. The other political prisoners in the ward were also subjected to a brutal assault, and their families are still unaware of their burial places.

The capitalist Velayat-e Faqih government, disregarding the protests against executions, continues to erect gallows every day and take the lives of citizens.

During the past week, in addition to dozens of prisoners convicted of general crimes, political prisoner Mehdi Khanki was also hanged in complete secrecy and without the benefit of the right to a fair trial. In continuation of this repression, the inhuman sentence of death has also been issued against the political prisoners Isa Chari, Amirhasan Akbari Monfared, Sepehr Amirzadeh, Akbar Arabzadeh, and Mehdi Arabzadeh. The number of executions since 21 March 2026 has now reached at least 303.

In the international response to these executions and death sentences, during the past week the United Nations Fact-Finding Mission warned against the death sentences issued in the case known as “Meydan Alikhani” in Isfahan and called for them to be halted.

The European Union has also sanctioned five judges who were involved in issuing death sentences and other inhuman punishments. Their names are as follows:

In another protest campaign, the hunger strike of the 1,500 prisoners in Unit 2 of Ghezel Hesar Prison has now continued for two weeks. However, neither the officials of this prison nor any other official of this executionist government has responded to their demands. In the hope of freedom and the establishment of equality for the oppressed and resilient people of Iran.

Hunger strike by the prisoners of Unit 2 of Ghezel Hesar, with more than 1,500 prisoners under death sentence
The “No to Execution Tuesdays” Campaign, while condemning the increasing executions in Iran, honors the memory of all executed prisoners, especially those who sacrificed their lives for freedom and in the struggle against the autocratic dictatorship.

The ruling authoritarian government, during the past week, once again took the lives of four political prisoners through medieval executions: Aref Khoshkar in Ghezel Hesar Prison, and Mohammad Amini Dehaghani, Erfan Esfandiari, and Gol Mohammad Mohammadi in Isfahan Prison.
These four oppressed prisoners, like many other political prisoners sentenced to death, were sentenced to death and executed following unfair trials. May they rest in peace, and may their memory be honored.

According to reliable statistics, at least 280 prisoners have been executed since 21 March 2026. In opposition to and protest against these inhuman executions, more than 1,500 prisoners in Unit 2 of Ghezel Hesar Prison have been protesting and on hunger strike for more than a week, demanding the abolition of the death penalty.

The prisoners in this unit are all under death sentence, most of them on drug-related charges. It is clear to everyone that the importers and producers of narcotics in Iran are the leaders of the government and the commanders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, and to cover up this blatant betrayal, they send to the gallows, every day, those who have fallen into the trap of drugs because of poverty and destitution.

Now the prisoners of Ghezel Hesar and the “No to Execution Tuesdays” Campaign, which has stood in opposition to the death penalty in Iran for 130 consecutive weeks, have risen up and continue to stand firm.

In this regard, a group of prisoners in Neyshabur Prison also announced in a statement that they are joining the campaign. Therefore, the “No to Execution Tuesdays” Campaign, on Tuesday, 21 July 2026, in its 130th week, is on hunger strike in the following 59 prisons:

Call to save the lives of non-political prisoners sentenced to death in Ghezel Hesar Prison and warning against the intensification of the issuance of death sentences for political prisoners
Two years after Pezeshkian, the appointed president of the Velayat-e Faqih government, came to power, the number of executions has risen horrifically, with at least 3,888 people sent to the gallows so far.

According to reports, last week a 52-year-old woman prisoner was hanged in Adelabad Shiraz Prison.

In the continuation of these killings and repressions, we are witnessing heavy sentences and executions for prisoners, especially those arrested in the January 2026 Protest. In addition to dozens of people who have been executed in connection with the January uprising, more than 100 other political prisoners, whose names have been published, are currently under death sentences. In the latest report, the following death sentences have been issued for 12 prisoners connected to the case known as “Meydan Alikhani Isfahan”:

Abolfazl Sepahi, born in 2003, sentenced to death three times
Alireza Raeisi, born in 2004, sentenced to death twice
Qaem Hosseini, born in 2005, sentenced to death twice
Golmohammad Mohammadi, born in 2002, an Afghan citizen, sentenced to death twice
Amirhossein Safari, born in 1998, sentenced to death
Amirhossein Maleki, born in 2006, sentenced to death
Ali Dashti, born in 2006, sentenced to death
Amirhossein Ebrahimi Analoujeh, born in 2006, sentenced to death
Shervin Bagherian, born in 2007, sentenced to death
Erfan Esfandiari, born in 2007, sentenced to death
Abolfazl Ebrahimi, born in 2007, sentenced to death

Three of these political prisoners were children at the time of their arrest, according to the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

In another repressive and misogynistic action, on Sunday, July 12, the guards of Evin Prison attacked the ward of women political prisoners and suppressed women who were protesting the increase in the ward’s population.

According to reports received by the campaign, since Monday, July 13, prisoners in Unit 2 of Ghezel Hesar have been protesting and going on hunger strike in protest against the transfer of six of their cellmates to solitary confinement for the implementation of their death sentences.

It is necessary to mention that last July, 1,500 prisoners of this unit, in protest against the execution of their cellmates, during a one-week strike, succeeded in stopping the execution of prisoners accused of drug-related charges in this prison, and prison officials promised that the executions of these prisoners would be reconsidered.

An unequal battle is taking place in the prisons; the authoritarian government carries out executions in order to prevent people’s protests, and at the same time does not back down from foreign war in order to justify internal repression.

In contrast, the prisoners and members of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” Campaign have, for 129 weeks without interruption, every Tuesday gone on hunger strike and protested against a crime that is being carried out daily by the ruling establishment in prisons, and they have not retreated on this path.

This week as well, a group of prisoners in Broojen Prison joined the “No to Execution Tuesdays” Campaign.

The members of the campaign warn against the implementation of the sentences of prisoners in Ghezel Hesar Prison and ask everyone to be the voice of the prisoners sentenced to death from the January Protests.

The reappointment of Mohseni Ejei is a serious threat to prisoners and human rights in Iran.
On the eve of 9 July, the anniversary of the killing of students on 9 July 1999, the “No to Execution Tuesdays” Campaign honors the memory of those who lost their lives on the path of freedom and equality. On that day, the ruling establishment suppressed the students’ protest and dragged the University Dormitory through blood and dust.

According to published statistics, the illegitimate government of “Velayat-e Faqih” has hanged at least 15 people since the beginning of July, and has issued the inhuman sentence of execution for a number of prisoners of general and political crimes.

Last week, Judge Salavati issued the medieval sentence of execution for Arghavan Fallahi, a female political prisoner held in the women’s ward of Evin. This sentence was issued by this notorious judge while the process of the case has taken place under unfair conditions and under pressure from security institutions.

Also, death sentences have been issued for a number of those arrested in the January 2026 uprising; among them, one can refer to the death sentence of Kamal Khanbahaei in Choubindar Qazvin Prison. Also, Vahid Khansanami, held in Tehran Bozorg Prison, was sentenced to death in an unfair process, and in order to intimidate society, a couple named Mehdi Nazar and Mahnaz Chardouli were cruelly sentenced to death.

These inhuman sentences are being issued while, recently, Mohseni Ejei, the head of the government judiciary, was once again kept in his position by his autocratic ruler, Mojtaba Khamenei. Ejei has a record entirely filled with human rights violations, and in the past four years he has claimed the record for the highest number of death sentences in the past three decades.

The “No to Execution Tuesdays” Campaign, while condemning the unjust death sentences, calls on all international bodies and awakened consciences to react to the human catastrophe that is taking place in Iran’s prisons. Death sentences are in fact issued behind closed doors and under pressure and psychological and physical torture in interrogation rooms. Therefore, it is necessary for everyone to take serious action in every possible way to pressure the government to observe the principles of fair trial, especially the public holding of trials in which the charges raised lead to deprivation of life and the death sentence.

Finally, it is necessary to mention that during this time many have produced content for us in support of the campaign, or have wanted their own “No to Execution” content to be published through the “No to Execution Tuesdays Campaign.” The campaign is nationwide and belongs to all striking prisoners with all tendencies, and therefore its demand is inclusive and beyond groups, parties, and currents. In addition, numerous materials are sent to the campaign’s pages. If we have not reposted the submitted content on the campaign’s social media pages, the first reason is so that this campaign remains beyond groups and political tendencies, belonging to all its members and supporters and opponents of execution. The second reason is that the main purpose of the campaign’s pages in the virtual space is to inform about the weekly statements and to create an archive of these statements. We thank the supporters of the campaign and all opponents of execution for producing content and for progressive anti-execution actions in defense of the right to life, and we warmly press everyone’s hands.

The execution and repression machine of the ruling authoritarian government continues its work, and every day we witness the execution of political prisoners and prisoners of general crimes across the country.

The government’s judiciary has announced that since the beginning of the recent war, it has arrested 3,292 people on the charge of “collaboration with the enemy.” This statistic is being published under circumstances in which, after the suppression of the nationwide January 2026 protests by military and security forces, the process of dealing with protesters has entered a new stage, and a large number of those arrested are at risk of being sentenced to death or to long-term imprisonment.

The prosecutor of Sari has said that 700 cases have been opened against the January 2026 protesters. Alamolhoda, the corrupt Friday prayer leader (Imam Jomeh) of Mashhad, has also reported thousands of cases for those arrested in the January 2026 uprising.

The number of executions in June of the current year amounts to around 140.

The record of this government is full of widespread and blatant violations of human rights and the use of execution as a tool for repression and intimidation. Thousands of families in Iran are mourning loved ones who, in an inhuman process, became victims of the government’s repressive will. In this context, the voice of a father asking, “Where is my son’s grave?” is a voice rising from the depth of suffering and injustice; the question of the father of Vahid Bani-Amerian, a political prisoner who, along with five other political prisoners, was executed in April of this year in Ghezel Hesar Prison, and of other families whose children’s bodies were not handed over to them, is not merely a personal demand, but the cry of many justice seekers who have been deprived even of the basic right to know the burial place of their loved ones. This deprivation is the continuation of punishment after execution and a blatant violation of human dignity, a place where suffering does not end and is not even allowed to mourn.

Against these acts of repression and medieval barbarity, the voice of prisoners in the “No to Execution Tuesdays” Campaign remains loud. Without interruption, every Tuesday they remind us that the death penalty must be abolished and that freedom and equality must be established in Iran.

At a time when human dignity should be at the center of law, justice, and governance, the killing and execution machine of Iran’s executionist government continues at full speed. According to reports received, on 7 June 2026, two women, aged 28 and 32, named Asieh Farahmand and Zeinab Zarini, were hanged in Qazvin Prison. Due to the lack of transparent reporting, the news of their executions has only recently reached us.

Also, on 16 June 2026, two political prisoners of the January 2026 protests in Shahroud, named Abolfazl Saedi and Javad Zamani, were executed. Accordingly, the number of prisoners executed in June has reached 134 people.

The death penalty in Iran is not a tool for the realisation of justice, but rather a mechanism for spreading fear, silencing the voices of opponents, and consolidating the authoritarian structure of power.

On the other hand, after months of military war and the cost it imposed on the lives of the people of Iran, in the recent week the “Velayat-e Faqih” government and the United States reached an initial understanding, in which, according to the published clauses, no attention has been given to human rights, repression, and the horrific executions in Iran. This matter shows that powers are not thinking of change, and that people must rely on themselves for change, and not on any foreign force or power.

Amnesty International and Ms. Mai Sato, the United Nations Special Rapporteur, together with a number of United Nations experts, in separate statements, warned against the ignoring of human rights violations in Iran and the continuation of the immunity of the violators of the human rights of the people of Iran from international prosecution and accountability. We declare to awakened consciences, international institutions, and supporters of human rights and opponents of execution:

We, the prisoners of the “No to Execution Tuesdays Campaign,” who for 126 weeks without interruption, every Tuesday in prisons across Iran, through hunger strike and whatever was within our ability, have protested against the medieval executions in Iran, once again declare that the human rights of the people of Iran, especially prisoners, are not negotiable, and together with the general people of Iran, until our last breath and with all our strength, we will defend freedom, equality, and the abolition of the death penalty.

We ask all the honourable and aware people of Iran, as well as the awakened consciences of the world and international human rights institutions, not to remain indifferent to the increasing wave of executions in Iran, and to take responsible and effective action to stop this organised crime by the religious fascism ruling Iran.

History has shown that no tyranny has remained lasting by relying on violence, and no government has been able to silence forever the voice of the people’s demand for justice. What will remain lasting is the ideal of freedom, equality, and respect for the right to life and human dignity; values for whose realisation the people of Iran have paid a heavy price and still insist upon them. The “No to Execution Tuesdays Campaign” informs the general public that a group of prisoners in Kerman Prison have also joined this campaign in protest against death sentences, and every Tuesday, together with other prisoners, they go on hunger strike.
